Allison Smith-Conway was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at the age of 32 and, as a result of her challenges, she helped to develop the Parkinson's in Balance Program to assist patients, and members of their families, who have been diagnosed with the disease. In this segment of the Healthy OC on PBS So Cal, Dr. Mark A. Anton, a leading plastic surgeon with a thriving practice in Newport Beach, California, talks about his extraordinary journey to Hinche, Haiti to provide surgical expertise to adults and children who were injured by the devastating earthquake in January of 2010. Partnering with Operation Smile, Dr. Anton traveled to Haiti for two weeks during the month of February to perform surgery on post-earthquake victims, many of whom were children. Nationally recognized for his medical expertise, Dr. Anton earned his B.S. degree from Tufts University and his M.D. degree from Wake Forest University.
